Coir-On Foam Products

We are located at Number 1 in the Industrial Estate on Udumalai Road. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of noise from the nearby factories and the sound of heavy trucks shifting gears as they pass by. At Coir-On Foam Products, our day starts early when the gates open for the first shift. We have stacks of foam and coir mats piled up high in the warehouse area. It’s a very practical space with concrete floors and high ceilings to keep things as cool as possible during the summer. The smell of coconut fiber is pretty strong on some days, especially when it’s humid. We spend most of our time loading and unloading or checking the quality of the foam blocks that come off the production line. It’s physical work, and we’re often covered in bits of fiber and dust by the time we go home. The road outside is usually dusty, and when it rains, it gets quite muddy, which makes moving the heavy stock a bit of a challenge for the workers. We don’t have a fancy showroom here; it’s mostly just the production area and a small office where we keep the logs and receipts. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, and we know the other business owners on the estate quite well. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for the trucks that come in from the city.
