We are the Loyola office out in C. Ramapuram Mandal in Rajasthan. It’s a very quiet and rural spot, quite a long way from any of the big cities. The address is 517 561 In, and if you are coming from the highway, you have to drive down some pretty bumpy roads to reach us. The landscape around here is mostly open fields and a few small houses scattered around. It gets very dusty, especially when the wind picks up during the dry season, so we spend a lot of our time just trying to keep the floors clean. Our building is just a simple one-story place. There isn’t much nearby except for some local farms and a couple of small shops that sell basic things like soap or biscuits. We don’t have any air conditioning, so we just keep the windows open and let the fans run all day. It’s usually peaceful, except for the sounds of animals or the occasional tractor passing by on the dirt road. We start our work early in the morning before the sun gets too hot to handle. Most of us come from the villages nearby. We still use old paper ledgers for a lot of our notes because the internet connection can be very unreliable out here. It’s a basic setup with some plastic chairs and heavy wooden tables. People often stop by just to say hello or ask a quick question. It’s just a slow and steady life here.
