Ap Model School

Down Dravidian University Road in Chittoor, you’ll find our school. It’s a bit out of the main town center so it’s actually quite peaceful most of the time. The road gets dusty when the wind blows, but the trees around the campus help a bit. We follow the model school setup, which means we have a lot of students from different backgrounds coming in every day. The building is a standard design, nothing fancy but it does the job. We spend a lot of time making sure the classrooms are ready before the first bell. The kids bring their lunches in metal boxes and you can hear them clinking during the break. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that, just the breeze from the windows. Teachers here often stay late to finish their records or talk to a parent who stopped by after work. Chittoor can be very hot, so we try to get the outdoor activities done early in the morning. It’s a practical place. We don't use big words to describe what we do; we just teach the lessons and watch the kids grow up. Some of the desks have names scratched into them from years ago. It’s just a part of the history of the place. Every afternoon we see the yellow buses line up to take everyone back to their villages. The walk to the gate is a long one.
