Vagdevi Public School

Vagdevi Public School is situated on Nagaram Gere Rode in Challakere. It’s part of the Chitradurga district, which can get quite hot and dry. The school is a place where we try to keep things cool and orderly for the children. We have a fairly simple building with the usual rows of classrooms. The kids come from the surrounding areas of Challakere, and we have a morning assembly where everyone gathers before starting the lessons. We don't have any flashy advertisements or big billboards. Most families come to us because they live nearby and know someone else whose kid goes here. The teachers work hard to get through the books every term. It’s a lot of repetition and making sure the basics are understood. We have a small playground where the children spend their breaks, and it gets quite loud then. The office is small and usually has a few parents waiting to talk about something. We don't try to sound like a fancy international school. We are just a local public school doing our part for the town. Sometimes the supplies are late or we need to fix a fan in a classroom, and we just handle it. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We want the kids to learn their lessons and be decent people. That’s really all there is to it at the end of the day. We just keep the gates open and the lights on for the neighborhood.
