Mes Girls High School

Our school, Mes Girls High School, is situated right at the junction of Ratnagiri Road and Mallandur Road here in Chikmagalur. The pin code is 577101 if anyone is looking for it on a map. It’s a place for the girls in this town to come and study. The weather in Chikmagalur is usually decent, which helps when the students are out in the yard. We have a simple building with several floors. The rooms are filled with old wooden benches and blackboards. It’s a bit of a walk for some of the students who live further out toward the hills, but they make it every morning. We don’t have anything very modern or flashy. It’s just a standard school where we follow the local curriculum. The staff room is usually full of notebooks that need grading. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the roof and make a lot of noise, which distracts the classes. We just deal with it. The gates stay shut during school hours to keep things safe. Most of us have worked here for a long time, so we know the families around Ratnagiri Road quite well. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the students attend their classes. There isn't much more to it than that. We just open up, teach, and close up for the day.
