Our office is right here at #112 in D.S Nagara, just along the Nayakanahatti Road in Challakere Taluk. It is a simple place where we get together to handle the paperwork for the local farmers. Most days, you will find a few of us sitting around the main desk talking about the harvest or the weather. Seva Banjara Challakere Farmer Producer Company Limited started because the people around here needed a way to manage their crops better without having to travel too far. We do not have any fancy furniture or a big lobby, just some plastic chairs and a lot of registers piled up. The road outside stays pretty busy with tractors and bikes passing by all day long. When the farmers come in from the nearby villages, we usually share some tea and talk about the market prices. It gets a bit dusty during the summer months because of the wind coming off the road, but we keep the fans going. We spend a lot of time checking the lists of members and making sure the grain supplies are accounted for. It is a quiet kind of work, but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the door where there is more light. We are just local people from the taluk trying to make things work for the families who grow the food.
