Veeranjanaya Horticulture Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based out in Kudlur, right on the Main Road in Chickmagalur. It’s a beautiful part of the country, though we're usually too busy to notice much. This is a producer company, which means we are really just a group of farmers working together. My father, Parvathappa, has been involved in this for a long time. At Veeranjanaya Horticulture, we deal with all sorts of local crops. Mostly fruits and things like that. It’s hard work, and the weather doesn't always cooperate. Some years are good, and some years you just try to get by. We don't have a fancy office building. Our headquarters is just a practical space where we can meet and organize our sales. There's usually a lot of crates and bags sitting around. Most of our time is spent talking to the other members and trying to get a fair price for what we grow. It’s not like those big city jobs where people sit in air conditioning all day. We are out in the dirt and the sun most of the time. We started this because it was getting harder for single farmers to make a living on their own. By working together, we can share the costs and the risks. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us here in Kudlur. We just want to keep our farms going for the next generation. It is just the way we have always lived.
