Nandhus Commodities Private Limited is located at No. 11 in Karkiepete, right near the government school in Chikmagalur. It’s a busy little area with kids running around during the day. We deal with different commodities that come through this part of the country. Since we are in Chikmagalur, coffee is obviously a big thing, but we look at other goods too like pepper or whatever else the local estates are growing. The office is pretty basic. We’ve got a couple of ledgers and a phone that rings more than it should. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just buying and selling what the land produces. Most of the people we work with are locals we’ve known for years. We stay busy keeping track of stocks and making sure things get loaded onto the trucks correctly. Sometimes the mountain roads make things slow, especially when the monsoon hits hard and everything gets soaked. You learn to just wait it out and hope for the best. It’s a small operation with just a few hands on deck to keep everything moving. We don't have a big marketing budget or a website that looks professional. It’s just us in Karkiepete doing the daily grind. We try to be honest about what we have and what we can do. It’s a straightforward business without any of the extra fluff. People know where to find us if they need to talk about their goods. We just take things as they come and try to stay organized through it all.
