We operate out of 22 V V Koil Street in Periamet. Zuha Garments isn't a very large operation, just a few of us working in the space we have. Vaniymbadi is a place where a lot of people are involved in this kind of work. The street is narrow, and you have to be careful when moving things so you don't block the way for others. Our building is older, with some character that comes from years of use. We don't have fancy air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans and keeping the doors open when it's not too dusty. The daily rhythm is pretty set. We arrive, check what needs to be finished, and get to it. There isn’t a lot of fluff in how we run things. If a machine breaks, we fix it ourselves or call the guy down the street who knows how to handle them. We’ve got stacks of fabric in different colors leaning against the walls. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, especially when a new delivery arrives at V V Koil Street. We just shift things around and make it work. Most of us eat our lunch together in the back, talking about whatever is on the news. It’s a quiet life in its own way, despite the noise of the work. We’ve been part of the Periamet community for a bit, and we’re just another shop doing our part. It's not always easy, especially when the weather is hot, but we manage to keep things moving. The rhythm of V V Koil Street is part of who we are now.
