New Collection

Our shop is called New Collection and we are located right at No 39 Thirupalli Street. It’s right by the Walltax Road area in Chennai, specifically near the Thirupalli Bus Stand. Because of the bus stand, there are always people walking past and it gets very crowded and loud during the day. The shop itself is packed with clothes and different items we’ve brought in. We spend a lot of time just folding things and trying to make space on the shelves. Sometimes we have so much stock that it’s hard to move around inside. It’s a small place but we make it work. Customers come in looking for something specific or just to see what’s new on the racks. We don't really have fancy lights or anything, just the basic stuff to show the clothes. Dealing with the heat and the dust from the road is just part of the daily routine here. We usually have the radio playing in the background to drown out the bus horns. My brother and I take turns sitting at the front. It’s a lot of long hours standing up and talking to people who are usually in a hurry to catch their next bus. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now and we know most of the other shopkeepers on the street. It’s a tight space but it’s our little corner of the city.
