Vsl India Pvt Ltd is located in Mylapore, which is one of those older parts of Chennai that feels very lived-in. Our office is in the Prasanthi Apartments on Srinivasa Road. It’s a bit of an old building, tucked away at New No. 23, which used to be Old No. 8 before the city changed the numbering system. Working here means you get used to the sounds of the street and the temple bells nearby. We have a small team that handles the daily operations. It’s not a large corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. Most of our desks are filled with folders and computers that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our days coordinating different projects and making sure things are moving as they should. Sometimes the humidity in Chennai makes the office a bit warm, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the work. People who visit us usually comment on how quiet the street is compared to the main roads. We don’t do a lot of fancy advertising or anything. Most of what we do involves keeping track of details and staying on top of our schedules. It’s a simple way of working, focusing on the tasks right in front of us without making things more complicated than they need to be. We just show up, do the job, and head back out into the Mylapore traffic.
