Mylapore is a busy place, and we’ve been tucked away here on P S Sivasami Salai for a long time now. People still get confused with the door numbers sometimes, since we have the old 98 and 99 ones and then the new 70 and 72 labels on the gates. It’s just how things go in this part of Chennai. The college feels like a part of the neighborhood fabric. You can hear the city sounds from the classrooms, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of footsteps in the hallways and students talking near the entrance. We aren’t a fancy new glass building. It’s more of a solid, lived-in space that shows its age in a comfortable way. The staff knows the local tea shops and the way the sun hits the courtyard in the afternoons. It gets quite warm in the summer, but that’s just part of being in Mylapore. We’ve seen the streets around us change quite a bit over the years, with new shops opening up and traffic getting a bit heavier on the way to the Luz corner. Most of us have been coming here for years, and it feels like a second home. The building has a lot of corners and spots that haven't changed since the early days. We don't spend much time worrying about looking modern because the daily work keeps us busy enough as it is. It’s just a place where people show up, do their thing, and go home.
