B. S. Abdur Rahman University

Life at Seethakathi Estate is pretty much dictated by the bell and the flow of traffic on GST Road. Vandalur is a busy spot, and being right here means there is always something going on. B. S. Abdur Rahman University is a large place with a lot of different buildings, but it feels smaller once you get to know the paths between the departments. You see students everywhere, usually rushing to a lab or sitting under the trees trying to get some reading done before an exam. The walk from the main gate can be a long one, especially when the Chennai sun is beating down on the pavement. We have a lot of different people coming through here, from young kids just starting their first year to researchers who have been on the campus for a long time. The labs have that specific smell of chemicals and old electronics, and the library is usually the only quiet place you can find. It’s not all about books, though. You hear the sounds of sports from the fields and people chatting near the canteen. It’s just a place where people come to learn things and hopefully figure out what they want to do later. The staff here are busy keeping everything running, from the power to the schedules. It’s a big operation, but at the end of the day, it’s just a campus full of people trying to get their work done.
