Periamet is the heart of the leather trade in this city, and Sns Leder Impex is right in the thick of it at No 39 Vepery High Road. You can usually tell you're close by the smell of the hides. Our building is one of the older ones on the street, and it’s seen a lot of years. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s more of a warehouse and workspace. We’ve got stacks of leather piled up, and there’s always someone moving something around. The traffic on Vepery High Road can be a nightmare sometimes, especially when the big delivery trucks are trying to turn into the narrow side streets. We’ve been doing this for a while, and we’ve learned to just take it one day at a time. It’s hard on the hands, working with these materials, and it’s not always clean work. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just a few of us making sure the skins are checked and the orders are filled. People know where to find us at No 39. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we've been here for years and people know the work we do in Periamet. It gets quite busy during the week but we try to keep things organized enough to find everything.
