Our place is located at 99, G.S.T. Road in Pallavaram, which is a very busy part of the city. Euro Leder Fashion Ltd. is the name we go by, and if you step inside, the first thing you notice is the strong smell of leather. We have been here for a long time, working with hides and making them into various fashion items. The workshop floor is always busy with people cutting patterns or stitching pieces together. Outside, the traffic on G.S.T. Road is constant and loud, but we are used to the rumble of the buses and cars passing by. We have racks of finished leather goods and stacks of raw material waiting to be used. It isn't a high-end boutique with bright lights and fancy carpets; it’s a working factory where things actually get made. We have a small area where we show our samples to people who come to visit. Most of our staff have been working with leather for most of their lives, so they know exactly how a piece should feel. We don't spend much time on fancy talk or marketing brochures. We just focus on the machines and the materials we have in front of us. When the monsoon comes, we have to be careful about the dampness, but we’ve managed it for years. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do best in this little corner of Pallavaram.
