L & H Leather Exports

If you come looking for us, you’ll find L & H Leather Exports on the second floor of the building at 9 Narayanan Street. Periamet is always busy, especially with all the leather trade going on around here. You can usually smell the processed hides as soon as you turn the corner into the street. Our space isn't huge, but it's enough for the desks and the samples we keep on the shelves. Climbing those stairs every day keeps us moving, though the humidity in the summer makes it a bit of a chore. We spend most of our time looking at ledgers and talking to the guys at the tanneries. There’s always someone coming in with a question or a delivery note. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic outside and the people shouting down in the lane, but you get used to it after a week or two. We’ve got some old wooden chairs for visitors, though they aren't the most comfortable things in the world. Usually, we just offer them a glass of water and get straight to whatever they need. The windows look out over the roofs of the neighboring shops. It's not a view you'd find in a magazine, but it feels like home to us. We’ve been operating from this floor for a good bit now, and we know most of the faces on the street. It’s a decent place to work, even if it gets a little cramped when new shipments arrive.
