Gillani Skinwear Export is over at No. 7 Bkn Avenue, just off Ritherdon Road in Vepery. We’ve been working from this building for a long time, mostly dealing with the export side of the garment business. It’s a lot of paperwork and boxes, to be honest. Our office isn't one of those shiny new glass buildings you see in the city center. It’s a practical space where we get things done. Vepery is an old area, and we’ve grown used to the rhythm of Ritherdon Road. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers or checking the quality of the batches before they get shipped out. We focus on skinwear, which means we have to be pretty careful about the materials we use. If the fabric isn't right, the whole order is a waste of time. We’ve had our fair share of long nights when a shipment is late or something goes wrong with the logistics. We aren't trying to be the biggest name out there; we just want to make sure the stuff we send out is decent. The crew here is small, and most of us have been working together for years. We know each other’s habits and how to get the work finished without making a big fuss about it. Being tucked away on Bkn Avenue suits us just fine. It’s quiet enough to focus but close enough to the main roads when we need to move freight.
