Veer Agro Traders

Our shop is tucked away on Prof. Subramaniam Street in Kilpauk. If you know the area, you know it can get a bit tight with the traffic. At Veer Agro Traders, we mostly handle things like grains and other agricultural stuff. The smells inside are always a mix of earth and spice, depending on what came in that morning. We have sacks piled up towards the back, and I usually spend my time sitting at the old wooden desk near the front door. It’s not a modern setup. We still use ledgers for a lot of things, even if there is a computer sitting there getting dusty. The neighbors often pop in just to say hello or ask about the prices. We’ve been at 16/2 for a long time, so people around here know us by name. It’s a bit of a scramble when a delivery truck arrives because the street is so narrow. We have to move fast to get things unloaded so we don't block the way for too long. My hands are usually a bit dirty from checking the quality of the seeds or the pulses. We don't have any big slogans or fancy uniforms. We just wear what's comfortable for moving heavy bags. It’s hard work, especially when it’s humid, but we like the routine of it. We just buy and sell what the farmers grow, keeping things moving through the city as best as we can.
