We are located at Old No.6 B, which is now New No.11, on 1st Street in Kilpauk Garden. It’s a residential-looking street but we’ve been running our cement and readymix business from here for quite some time. The building is an older one and has a lot of character, though the stairs are a bit narrow. We handle a lot of the logistical side of things from the office here. There’s always a stack of delivery slips on the counter and the printer is usually running. Kilpauk is a nice area, but getting big trucks through these streets can be a challenge. We have to be careful with the timing so we don't bother the neighbors too much. Inside, the walls are painted a simple off-white and we have maps of the city pinned up everywhere. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers and site managers. It gets pretty hectic during the peak construction months. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the ropes. Sometimes the water line in the building acts up and we have to call a plumber. It's just those little things you deal with in an old office. We keep our paperwork in folders that have seen better days. It’s a practical setup for what we do. We just make sure the orders are processed and the concrete gets delivered. There’s a nice park nearby where we sometimes sit for a bit.
