Unitex Internaional Pvt. Ltd. operates out of No. 92 Fci Colony in Chevvapet, Thiruvallur. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s where we’ve set up our home base. The colony is usually peaceful, which is nice when we are trying to coordinate things over the phone. Our office isn't anything special to look at—just some sturdy desks, a few computers, and a lot of ledgers. We spend most of our time communicating with people far away, but our daily reality is very local. We walk to the corner for snacks and know the neighbors by name. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and wait it out, chatting about the weather or local news. We handle international trade, but we do it from this small corner of Thiruvallur. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in what we do, so you’ll see folders and stacks of paper everywhere you look. It’s an honest living. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If someone stops by, they usually just pull up a plastic chair and talk to whoever is free. We focus on the logistics and the numbers, making sure everything is lined up for the next shipment. It’s a slow and steady process, and we’ve gotten used to the pace of life here in Chevvapet over the years we've been open.
