Union Steel Company

Union Steel Company is located at 25-B on Jones Street. It’s a pretty narrow street, so when the big trucks come in, everything sort of stops for a minute. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The building is older, with heavy doors that sometimes stick when the humidity gets too high. Inside, there’s usually a stack of steel samples lying around and the smell of metal is everywhere. I usually spend my mornings checking the inventory lists while the guys out back sort through the new arrivals. Jones Street isn't the fanciest part of town, but it works for what we do. We don't have a website that works right half the time, so most people just call or walk through the door. There’s a small desk in the front where I sit. It’s cluttered with pens that don’t work and old invoices. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our neighbors know who we are. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. The tea stall down the road brings over a tray around eleven, and that’s usually the highlight of the morning. We just try to keep the steel moving and stay on top of the orders. It’s not a glamorous life, but Union Steel Company is a steady place. We know our regulars and they know where to find us. Just 25-B, right there on the corner. It's nothing special to look at, but we do our work honestly and keep things moving.
