Vikash Trading Company

Vikash Trading Company is tucked away at 6/5 Ashtabujam Road in the Choolai area. We are very close to the Angalamman Kovil, so we often hear the temple bells and the crowds during festival times. It’s a very traditional part of the city. Our building is old, like most things in Choolai, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out. We do a lot of trading in various goods, so there are always boxes and crates being moved in and out of the storage area. The office is just a small room at the front with a couple of wooden desks and a big fan to keep us cool. We don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to keep our records straight and the orders moving. The air is often filled with the smell of incense from the temple and the dust from the street. We have a few people working here who have been with the company since the beginning. We know our neighbors well and often stop to chat on the sidewalk. It’s not a fast-paced corporate environment. Things move at a steady, predictable rhythm here. We focus on the local market and the people we’ve known for years. Sometimes we get deliveries late in the evening, so someone is usually around to sign for them. We don't make big promises; we just try to do what we said we’d do. It’s a simple way of doing business, but it has worked for us for a long time. We like it here.
