Tool Tech Engineering

You can find us at 3/2 Sornambigai Street over in Ekkatuthangal. The area is full of small shops and workshops, and we fit right in. Our building is a simple one-story place with a big metal shutter that we roll up every morning at eight. Inside, there is usually the sound of a machine running or someone grinding something down. It’s a bit noisy, but you get used to it after a week or so. We do a lot of small engineering jobs for the local factories. There’s always a pile of scrap metal in the bin by the door and a few half-finished projects on the workbenches. The floor is grey cement and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We keep a fridge in the corner for cold water because the heat gets pretty bad under the tin roof during the summer months. It’s just a handful of us here, mostly wearing old overalls that are stained with grease. We don't have a big office, just a small table with a ledger and a telephone. Sometimes neighbors pop in just to chat or borrow a tool for ten minutes. We try to keep things organized but when we get busy, stuff starts piling up on the floor. It’s a practical place for practical work. We just show up, do what needs doing, and close up when the sun sets. We usually have a bit of a cleanup on Saturday afternoons before heading home for the weekend.
