Our office for Tmb Engineering Pvt Ltd is on the ground floor at 7/4, 8th Street in Nandanam Extension. If you know Chennai, you know this area can get quite lively. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to drop in without hunting for an elevator. The space isn't huge, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need to run an engineering firm. There are stacks of drawings on some tables and computers that never seem to get a break. We do a lot of planning and coordination from this small spot. The 8th street is usually lined with parked bikes and cars, and there’s a certain rhythm to the neighborhood that we’ve grown used to over the years. We started out with just a couple of desks, and now it feels a bit cramped sometimes, but it works for us. Most of our days are spent talking to contractors or checking on project status. It’s noisy when the windows are open because of the city sounds, but we don't mind it much. We have a small pantry where someone is always making coffee. It's an honest place where we put in the hours. We don't really do the corporate thing with big presentations. We just focus on the engineering details and make sure the files are organized. It's a simple setup in a good part of Chennai.
