Being on Kuppam Beach Road in Thiruvanmiyur is actually pretty nice. We’re at number 56/11. Jv Global Trade has been operating out of this location for a good while. You can sometimes smell the salt in the air when the wind is right, though we’re usually too busy inside to notice. Thiruvanmiyur is a busy part of town, but our stretch of the road is manageable. We deal with global trade, which sounds a lot more complicated than it feels most days. It’s really just about connecting people and moving products from point A to point B. We spend a lot of time checking regulations and making sure we aren't missing any steps. The office is a functional space. We didn't spend much on fancy furniture because we’d rather have good computers and a reliable internet connection. That’s what actually gets the work done. The team here is local. We mostly walk or take a scooter to work. It’s a practical arrangement. Sometimes people stop by thinking we’re a different kind of shop because of the beach road location, but we just explain we handle trade and they move on. It’s a steady life. We don’t have big corporate meetings. We just talk across the desks when something needs to be sorted out. It works for us. We've been here long enough that the local shopkeepers know us by name, and we like that sense of community.
