If you know the T Nagar bus terminus, then you know exactly where we are. We are tucked away on 1st Main Road at number 73/34. It’s a loud area with all the buses coming and going, but that brings a lot of people by the shop. Most people are in a hurry to catch their ride or they just got off a long trip and need something cold to drink. We stay busy with that. The weather in Chennai is usually hot, so the fridge is always running hard to keep things chilled. We don’t have much room for sitting, it’s more of a quick stop kind of place. You’ll see people standing around for a few minutes, having a quick chat, and then heading back into the crowd. We keep the counters wiped down and the bottles lined up. It gets a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but we try to keep it clean. Working near the bus stand means we see all kinds of people from different places every single day. Some are regular commuters and some are just passing through T Nagar for shopping. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, but the bus noise stays the same. It’s a simple setup we have here, just serving what’s needed to get people through their day in the heat.
