Star Narrow Fabrics India LLP is based right here in Nungambakkam, at 46 and 47 Sri Madhavan Nair Road. This part of Chennai is always moving, but our street has its own pace. We’ve been operating out of these two units for a good while, and they’re pretty much filled to the ceiling with narrow fabrics. If you aren't sure what that is, think of ribbons, tapes, and that sort of thing. It’s a specific kind of business, and it keeps us on our toes. The building is older, but it has character and enough space for the machines to run without us bumping into each other too much. We aren't really the corporate type, so you won't find us in suits very often. We’re usually in our regular clothes, moving boxes or checking the weave on a new batch of tape. Nungambakkam can get pretty crowded, especially during the peak hours, so getting deliveries in and out is always a bit of a puzzle. We’ve learned to work around the traffic patterns. Sometimes things go wrong, a machine breaks or a shipment is late, and we just roll up our sleeves and fix it. That is just how life is here on Sri Madhavan Nair Road. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall; we just have our daily list of things to get done and a bit of tea to keep us going.
