St Johns Matriculation Higher Secondary School

We’ve been here in Mandaveli for a long time now. The school sits right on 1st Loop Street, not too far from the water at South Canal Bank. It gets quite busy in the mornings when the parents come to drop off the kids. You can hear the noise from the street right through the windows. The building itself has seen a lot of years. We just try to keep things running smoothly day to day. Sometimes the rain makes the canal area a bit damp, but we manage. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all know the neighborhood pretty well. It isn’t a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a solid brick building where people come to learn. We have the usual classrooms and a bit of space for the kids to move around. Mandaveli has changed a lot since the school first opened its doors, with more traffic and new shops popping up everywhere, but our corner feels mostly the same. You see the same faces every morning at the gate. Some of the teachers have been here since they were young themselves. It's just a regular part of life on this side of town. We don't spend much time on big speeches or decorations. Mostly, we just make sure the gates are open on time and the chalk is ready. It’s a bit of a maze getting through the side streets sometimes, but everyone knows where we are.
