St Francis International School

We’ve been here on Anna Main Road in Gerugambakkam for a while now. Most people know the spot, right near No 79. It gets pretty busy around here in the mornings when the parents are dropping kids off. We have a gate that opens early, usually by seven-thirty. Inside, it’s mostly just classrooms and a bit of space for the students to run around during their break times. Nothing too fancy or over the top. The weather in Chennai is always a factor, so we try to keep things shaded where we can with a few trees and awnings. Teachers show up around eight to get things ready for the day. Some kids come by the school bus, others just walk if they live nearby in the neighborhood. We see the same faces every day, which is nice for us. It’s a lot of work keeping a school running in this part of town. The building is solid enough for what we need. We handle the usual stuff like books, uniforms, and keeping the desks clean. Sometimes the rain makes the road messy outside, but we manage to get everyone inside without too much trouble. People stop by to ask about admissions or just to talk. We don't have a huge office staff, just a few of us here making sure the bells ring on time. The kids grow up fast. One year they are tiny and the next they are almost as tall as us. That's just how it goes here.
