Sri Parthasarathy Silks & Handlooms

If you’ve ever walked down Big Street in Triplicane, you know how crowded it gets, especially near No. 195/96. That is where we are. We have been dealing with silks and handlooms for quite some time now. The shop isn't some massive mall, but we have stacks of sarees and fabrics piled up on the shelves. It smells like old wood and fresh silk inside. We spend most of our mornings folding things back up after customers look through them. Triplicane has a certain feel to it, and being right here on Big Street means we see everyone passing by. We get a lot of regulars who have been coming to us for years. They know we don't do all the flashy marketing stuff you see in the big city shops. We just show what we have and let the fabric speak for itself. Sometimes the lighting isn't perfect, but you can see the thread work clearly enough. It’s a family-run kind of vibe where we sit and talk with people while they decide. We don’t rush anyone. There is a lot of history in these handlooms and we like being part of that tradition here. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons but the fans keep things moving. We just keep things simple and try to be honest about what we're selling. We don't really have a website, we just rely on people stopping in.
