Sri Palam Silk Sarees

Sri Palam Silk Sarees is located on the first floor of number 115 in Pondy Bazar. T. Nagar is a very famous area for shopping, and it can be quite overwhelming with all the crowds and the noise. Being up on the first floor helps us get away from the busiest part of the sidewalk, though you can still hear the honking and the people below. It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs, but once you’re inside, it’s a lot calmer. The room is filled with shelves of sarees, stacked from floor to ceiling. We don’t have much in the way of decoration. We just focus on keeping the silk in good condition. The air conditioner is almost always running because it gets so hot in Chennai, and we want to make sure the space is comfortable for everyone. We’ve been here in Pondy Bazar for a long time now. We don't really use a lot of fancy words or marketing tricks to get people inside. Most people know where we are because they’ve been coming to us for years. We spend a lot of time folding and tidying up after we’ve shown the fabrics to someone. It’s a slow, steady kind of work. We aren't a big chain; we are just a local shop in the heart of T. Nagar. We like the familiar faces of the neighborhood and the daily routine of the market. It keeps us busy.
