Sri Kaligambal Exports

Sri Kaligambal Exports is situated at number 86 on Sami Pandaram Street in Chintadripet. The building used to be number 41/2, so sometimes the mail still gets a bit confused, but we’ve been here long enough that the postman knows exactly where we are. Chintadripet is a busy place, and our street is no exception. It’s narrow and full of life from early morning. We do our work in a space that feels more like a home than an office. The rooms are small and the ceilings are high, which helps a bit with the heat in the summer months. We handle exports, so a lot of our day is spent filling out forms and making sure the boxes are taped up tight so nothing breaks on the long journey overseas. We aren't a big company with hundreds of workers. It’s just a small team of us who have known each other for a long time. We eat our lunch together and sometimes stay late when a big shipment is due to leave the port. We don't use big words or try to act like we’re more important than we are. We just focus on the task at hand and try to avoid making mistakes with the addresses. The floors are old stone and the windows rattle when a heavy truck goes past, but it has been our workplace for years and we like the familiarity.
