Sri Devi Exports Chennai is tucked away at 48 Acharappan Street. If you know Chennai, you know how these streets can be, quite narrow and always something happening. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the neighbors all know us by now. It’s not the quietest place to work because of the street noise, but we are used to it. The building is older but it serves its purpose for what we do every day. We spend most of our time dealing with the inventory and making sure everything is counted correctly before it leaves. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic in this part of town, which can be a bit of a headache for the schedule. We have a small group of staff who have been with us for years. It feels more like a family than a big office environment. We don't really have a website or do much online, most people just find us through word of mouth or by walking past the shop on the street. The space inside is a bit tight with all the stock piled up, but we manage to find what we need. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and checking labels. Nothing too complicated, just honest work every day to keep the business running. We just take things one day at a time and do what is required.
