The smell of leather is something you just get used to when you work at Sri Andal Leathers Pvt. Ltd. over on MGR High Road. We are based in Nagalkeni, right in the Chrompet area, which everyone knows is the place for this kind of work. Our building at number 62 isn't anything special to look at, but it gets the job done. We spend our days dealing with hides and finished leather pieces. It’s a messy business sometimes, and the floors are rarely clean for long, but that’s the nature of leather processing. We have a lot of local guys working here who have been doing this for years. They know the feel of the material better than anyone. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy website. Most people just come to the door or call us up when they need something. We try to keep the machines running and the orders moving, though some days the heat in Chrompet makes everything feel a bit slower. We just take things one day at a time. Sometimes the leather isn't exactly what we expected, and we have to figure out a way to make it work. It’s practical, everyday labor. We aren't doing anything fancy, just processing leather and making sure it gets where it needs to go from our spot on MGR High Road. It's just a regular leather business in a busy part of the city.
