Sree Leathers

If you’ve ever been to T. Nagar, you know how crazy it gets near the bus terminus. We are located right at 20 South Usman Road, just a short walk from where all the buses pull in. Sree Leathers is always a bit of a chaotic place because of where we sit. There is a constant stream of people coming off the buses and heading toward the shops. Inside, we have rows and rows of shoes and bags, and it feels like we’re always restocking the shelves. The floor gets scuffed up pretty fast with all the foot traffic, so someone is usually mopping at least once every few hours. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or have people standing outside waving signs. The name on the door is enough for most folks who have lived in Chennai for more than a month. It gets really hot in the afternoons on South Usman Road, so we try to keep the air moving as much as we can. Some days it feels like the whole city is trying to squeeze into the shop at once, especially on the weekends. We just try to keep things organized and help people find a pair that fits without making a big deal out of it. It’s a loud, busy, and tiring place to work, but it’s never boring. You see all kinds of people coming through here every single day and that keeps things interesting.
