Nagappa Leather Crafts

Our place is on Spurtank Road in Chetpet. It has two numbers, the old one is 69 and the new one is 30, which sometimes confuses the delivery drivers who are looking for us. We’ve been at this location for quite a long time. Nagappa Leather Crafts is really about the handiwork. We aren't a massive factory with robots or fancy tech. Instead, we have people sitting at benches with hand tools. It’s quiet work for the most part. Chetpet is a busy area, but once you step inside our building, it feels a lot calmer. We have shelves filled with different types of leather and various tools scattered around. Sometimes the floor is covered in small shavings and offcuts. We try to keep things tidy, but when you are busy making things, it gets messy fast. The light from the street comes in through the front windows. We know most of the people who walk by every day. It’s a good community. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. We just make the leather goods and hope people like what we do. Our hands are usually stained with dye by the end of the shift. That’s just part of the job. It feels good to finish a piece and set it on the rack. We take our time and don't rush the process, even when we have a lot of orders to fill.
