Spectra Engineers

Spectra Engineers is based at C-57 A in the Thiru-Vi-Ka Industrial Estate in Guindy. This is one of the oldest industrial areas in Chennai, and you can really feel that history when you walk around. Our unit is a practical engineering space. We have heavy benches and tools scattered around where the guys do the fabrication and repair work. It is usually hot inside because of the machines and the Chennai humidity, but we are used to that. The walls have a bit of grease on them and there are always blueprints or technical drawings pinned up somewhere. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting parts and making sure the dimensions are right. It is not a quiet office environment; there is usually someone grinding something or using a drill. We have a small corner with a desk where we handle the orders and talk to vendors, but most of the work happens on the shop floor. The industrial estate is always buzzing with activity, so there is a constant background noise of traffic and other workshops. We have been at this address for quite a while, and most of the people in the neighboring units know us. We are just a group of people who like working with our hands and getting things fixed. There is no corporate polish here, just honest work and a lot of sweat every day.
