Chandra Impex

Chandra Impex is situated on the first floor of the Shree Centre building at number 130 Mint Street in Sowcarpet. If you have ever been to Sowcarpet, you know that Mint Street is one of the most crowded and noisy places you could ever find. There are people, carts, and vehicles everywhere. Our office is right in the thick of it. Being on the first floor gives us a little bit of distance from the street noise, but not much. The building is old, and the stairs are quite narrow, so carrying heavy items up can be a real chore. Inside, the space is packed with desks, files, and samples of the stuff we export. We don't have any room for fancy decorations because every inch is used for work. It is often hot and a bit cramped, but that is just the nature of doing business in this part of town. We have been here for years and wouldn’t know how to work anywhere else. Most of the day is spent shouting over the noise of the street and making sure our orders are correct. We drink tea from the stall downstairs at least three times a day. It’s a very local way of working. There are no polished presentations here, just people talking about prices and shipping dates. It’s honest work in a very busy, historical marketplace.
