Shikdar Agriculture

Shikdar Agriculture is located at Shop No- 1074 on the Tiruvottiyur High Road. We are quite close to the Toll Gate, which means the traffic is almost constant. You can hear the trucks and buses shifting gears all day long. Inside the shop, it’s a different world with bags of seeds and different farming tools leaning against the walls. We have been in Tiruvottiyur for a good bit of time now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The road outside used to be much narrower. Now, it's always busy. I spend most of my time answering questions from people who stop by while they are on their way to the fields. Sometimes we just talk about the weather and whether the rain will come on time this year. It's a practical place, not something built for looks. The floor is concrete and there is always a bit of dirt from the boots of people coming in. We keep the ledger on a small wooden desk near the front. Shop No- 1074 is not very large, but we manage to fit everything a farmer might need in here. It gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we keep the fan on high. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just a reliable spot near the Toll Gate where people can get what they need without a fuss.
