Mangalam Peppers

You can find us over at 15 Old Bungalow Street in Chintadripet. Mangalam Peppers is a small operation that has been in this neighborhood for a good while. The street itself is quite old and has a lot of character, with many different businesses crammed in together. Our building is nothing special to look at, but it is sturdy and keeps our stock safe from the weather. We deal mainly with peppers, so there is almost always a bit of a sharp, spicy scent in the air when you walk through the door. It is just a few of us working here every day. We spend most of our time grading the stock and getting it ready for the local shops that buy from us. We do not use any high-tech machinery for our work. Most things are done by hand or with very simple scales. We like the pace of things here in Chintadripet. It is busy enough to keep us on our feet but not so much that it feels overwhelming. Sometimes we sit on the steps out front for a few minutes when the work slows down. We have seen many changes in the neighborhood over the years, but our little corner on Old Bungalow Street stays pretty much the same. We do not do any big advertising. Our customers are mostly regulars who have been coming to us for a long time. It is a very straightforward business.
