Mahajans Agro

You can find us at No. 3 on 1St Cross Street in Kasturbai Nagar, Adyar. It’s a tucked-away little street, so it’s easy to miss if you aren't looking closely. Mahajans Agro is a small operation, and the office is basically a single large room where everything happens. We have sacks of grain samples sitting in the corners and a thick layer of papers on every flat surface. The walls are painted a pale yellow that’s started to peel a bit near the ceiling. It gets quite humid here, so we usually keep the door open to catch whatever breeze comes down the street, even if it means a few flies wander in. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers, and sometimes the shouting matches over prices get a bit loud. There’s a small sink in the back where we wash our mugs, and the faucet has a drip that nobody has bothered to fix yet. We don’t have any fancy branding or uniforms. Most of us just wear whatever is comfortable for moving bags around. The neighbors know us well, and we often spend a few minutes chatting with whoever is passing by. It’s a simple, local business where the work is straightforward and the days are long. We don't try to be anything we aren't; we just keep the agro business running from our little corner in Adyar.
