Our place is in the Sidco Industrial Estate, specifically in the North Phase of Ambattur. We are located at number 221 on 9th Street in Sector 2. It’s a massive area with lots of engineering shops, so it’s always buzzing with the sound of metal being cut and trucks moving around. Sathyam Auto Engg has been part of this landscape for years. We do a lot of heavy lifting here. It’s not a clean environment by any means. There’s iron dust and the smell of cutting oil everywhere. We have some big machines that take up most of the floor space. The office is just a small corner partitioned off so we can hear ourselves speak. We deal with a lot of industrial clients who need specific parts made. It’s precise work, even if the building looks a bit old. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it really pours, but we just move the machines out of the way. We don't have any marketing people; we just rely on the fact that we’ve been here so long. Everyone in this part of Ambattur knows the street. We work long hours when there’s a big order to finish. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We aren't looking to move anywhere else. Sometimes we stay through the night to finish a batch of parts for a client who's in a hurry.
