Gugan Engineering Company is tucked away at 12/6 Karamaraj 5th Street within the Tass Industrial Estate in Ambattur. If you’ve ever been to Ambattur, you know it’s the heart of the manufacturing scene around here. Our shop is like many others in the estate—loud, oily, and full of metal. We have machines running most of the day, and the sound of cutting and grinding is just part of the background. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a clean white shirt. We mostly deal with mechanical parts and engineering components that go into bigger machines. Every day is about checking tolerances and making sure the metal is shaped just right. The street outside is usually blocked by trucks loading or unloading stuff, so getting in and out can be a bit of a challenge. We’ve got a small crew of guys who have been working with these machines for years. We don't have a big fancy office; just a small desk in the corner where we keep the bills and some old blueprints. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the shed traps all the heat. But there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a raw piece of steel turn into something useful. We just show up, do the work, and go home tired. That’s the reality of life in the industrial estate for us. We've been here for years and the noise doesn't even bother us anymore.
