Sarojini Varadappan Girls Higher Secondary School

We are located at number 18 Kandasami Nagar in the Poonamallee area. This school has been specifically for girls for a long time. It’s a pretty established place in the neighborhood. The building is simple and has that old-school feel to it. We have a lot of students who walk here from the nearby houses. Our day usually starts with the girls gathering in the main courtyard. It’s a lot of noise and energy right from the start. We have a dedicated group of teachers who have been with us for years. They know the families and the local area well. We don't have high-tech gadgets in every corner. It’s mostly just traditional classrooms with benches and chalkboards. We focus on the higher secondary levels, so things get a bit serious around exam time. You can see the students studying in groups under the trees sometimes. The gate needs a bit of oil because it squeaks, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We just run things the way they’ve always been run, with a focus on the girls getting their education. Poonamallee is a busy place, but once you step inside our gates, it feels like its own little world. We’re just a local school doing what we can for the community. Every year the faces change but the way we do things stays about the same.
