Sarang Traders

Sarang Traders. Our place is at No: 167 on Arcot Road in Vadapalani. If you’ve ever been to this part of Chennai, you know how the traffic is. It is constant noise and horns honking all day long. We are in a middle-sized building between a few other shops. We mostly handle trading goods, so there are always boxes coming in and out. The floor is concrete and stays a bit cool even when the sun is hitting the pavement outside. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the records. It is usually covered in dust because of the road work that never ends. We drink a lot of water and tea to stay hydrated. The workers are mostly guys from the local area. We don't have fancy uniforms or a lobby. You just walk in and there are stacks of inventory everywhere. Sometimes it's hard to move around when a big shipment arrives. We use a small hand trolley to move the heavier crates. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it works fine. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking the lists. Vadapalani is a crowded spot, but being on Arcot Road means people can find us easily. We just do our business and try to get home before the evening rush hour gets too bad. It is a regular trading house.
