Sam Overseas Trading Private Limited is tucked away in Triplicane, Chennai. Specifically at No.16/78, Soorappa Street. If you’ve ever walked through Triplicane, you know how crowded and lively it is. Our office is right in the middle of all that noise and energy. We handle a lot of trading stuff here. It involves a lot of phone calls to suppliers and making sure the containers are ready at the port. Being in Chennai helps because we are close to the docks, but the traffic can be a real headache. We deal with all sorts of items for the overseas market. Most of our day is spent looking at spreadsheets and talking to shipping agents. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. Most of us just wear whatever is comfortable for the heat. The office is a bit small and we have files stacked up to the ceiling in some corners. We’ve been here for a while and the neighbors know us. We don’t really do big marketing campaigns. We just focus on our regular clients and try to get their goods across the ocean without too much trouble. Sometimes things get delayed at customs and we have to spend the whole afternoon sorting it out. It’s just the way things go in the trading business. We take it one day at a time and try to stay organized. We make sure the paperwork is done right so the cargo doesn't get stuck.
