We are located up on the first floor of the building at Armenian Street. It is an old place, and they changed the numbers a while back so now it is New No. 3 but used to be Old No. 2. You have to look closely at the signs or you might walk right past the entrance. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, which makes carrying heavy bundles of cloth quite a workout every day. Armenian Street is always crowded with people and vehicles. You can hear the horns honking all day long from our windows. Being on the first floor helps a bit with the dust from the road, but not much. We spend most of our hours here surrounded by salwar materials and different fabrics. It is a lot of work keeping everything sorted by color and size. The lighting inside is okay, but we use extra lamps when we are checking the stitching or the patterns. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, so we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It is not a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we get things done. We have a small table for the accounts and a few racks for the stock. Most of the people who work here have been with us for years. We know the neighbors and the tea shop at the corner quite well.
