Adhirai Exports & Imports

Our place is over in Saidapet on Saradambal Street. It’s an older building, Old No. 30, and it has a lot of character, though it could probably use a new coat of paint at some point. We’ve been running Adhirai Exports & Imports from here for quite some time now. Saidapet is a busy, older part of the city, and we really like the feel of it. There is always something happening on the street outside, from vendors to people just walking by. We spend our time managing the flow of goods coming in and going out of the country. It involves a lot of coordinating with truck drivers and the port authorities. Sometimes the logistics get really messy, especially during the monsoon season when the streets around here can get a bit flooded and slow everything down. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a big sign. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big titles or polished business presentations. We just know how to move products and we stick to doing that well. A few of us have been working together for many years, so we have a good rhythm. It is a lot of phone calls and checking on tracking numbers throughout the day. The hours can be quite long if a container gets stuck somewhere. We just deal with it one step at a time. It’s an honest way to make a living in the city and we're happy to be here.
