If you go down Mint Street in Parktown, you’ll find us at number 264. It’s a very busy part of the city, and our shop is usually full of people. We deal with everything you could possibly need for a hotel or a catering business. From giant cooking pots to tiny spoons, we have it all stacked up. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of plates and rows of tiffins. We’ve been here for years, and the business has grown quite a bit, but we still like to treat everyone who walks in like a neighbor. You’ll see a lot of restaurant owners coming in to pick out new supplies for their kitchens. It gets very loud in here with the sound of metal clanging and people talking over each other. We don’t really do any big advertising. People just know that if they’re starting a food business, they should come to Mint Street and look for the S. Selladurai Nadar sign. We have a lot of staff running around helping customers find specific sizes of vessels. It’s chaotic but it works. We stay open pretty late because that’s when a lot of the catering folks finish their shifts and have time to shop. It’s just a busy, honest place where people get the tools they need to cook for others. We hope to stay here for many more years in this neighborhood.
