Ashok Residency Hotel Iyappathangal is situated at No 1/460 on Mount Poonamallee Road. We are directly opposite Ramachandra Medical College, which defines a lot of what happens here. Many of our guests are families of patients or students’ parents who need to stay close to the hospital in Ayyappanthangal. Being in the 600056 area, we see a lot of the traffic that comes through Poonamallee every day. It’s a busy road, and it rarely gets quiet until very late at night. We don't have a big corporate lobby with marble floors; it’s a more modest setup that suits the needs of the people coming here. We spend our time making sure the rooms are ready and that the plumbing is working right. It’s a lot of physical labor, keeping a hotel running in such a high-traffic zone. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are constantly cleaning. We don't try to sound like a luxury destination because that's not what we are. We are just a local hotel providing a place for people who have things to do at the medical college or in the nearby area. Our staff is mostly local people who know the neighborhood well. We just keep our heads down and do the work, making sure the doors stay open for whoever needs them.
